In a few days, 1979 will come to a close and it will also be the end of the seventies – a meaningful decade for our family. It started with our marriage in 1970. Our three children were born, we purchased a house, and established a business in Germany.
During the past two years, we lost our mothers – Gerhard’s mother passed away in August 1978, and Brigitte’s mother in the month of March of this year.
Our girls are both of school age and have many interests. During the summer they became excellent swimmers, and now they are busy ice skating.
Susan, 8, will be taking part in a skating contest. Both girls belong to a Junior Ice Skating Club.
Tanya, 6, takes dance lessons once a week. Both have just completed a course in ceramics, and we are looking forward to seeing the results at Christmastime.
Peter, 2½, is a bright little fellow and quite capable of handling his sisters.
Brigitte busies herself with improving the interior of the house, and she has to do a lot of driving with the girls.
Gerhard is fully occupied with Theta Industries and satisfied with the results of this year. Toward the end of the year, Theta will ship a $100,000 computerized laser installation to a German nuclear establishment.
During our vacation in Germany this year we were mainly occupied with dissolving the household of Brigitte’s mother. Aunt Pepi was of great help. In February we left snowed-in New York and took a trip to Florida where we not only enjoyed the weather, but were fascinated with Disney World.
We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a healthy, successful 1980!
