We hope that this letter finds you in good health and in a festive holiday mood.
Gerry continues to be satisfied with the progress of his business and is always very busy. In October, Erica Bower (62), our secretary for many years, died during her vacation in England. It was a great personal and business loss for all of us.
In June, Gerry went to Germany and took both his girls with him.
Susan (11) spent this past summer in Neuburg-Donau with Maria, Brigitte’s cousin and her family. She went to school there for three weeks and thinks that school in Bavaria is harder than in Lower Saxony. In New York, her school work is always worthy of praise.
Tanya (9) visited the Fritz Buck family. She enjoyed life on the farm so much that she hardly wanted to return home. She loved taking pictures with her new camera. Most of her pictures were of the animals.
Peter (5) has been going to Kindergarten since September. He doesn’t like school as much as his sisters did when they were his age.
Brigitte went to Bavaria in the summer with Peter. She was well-received at Aunt Pepi’s. The high point of her vacation was attending the Wagner’s wedding at which Peter and Susan were flower girl and boy. Brigitte brought Christine Buck back with her on the return flight to the USA. She visited us for three weeks. During this time, we all took a trip to Niagara Falls.
In February, the whole family spent a relaxing week on Cayman Island (the original treasure island as found in the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson).
We wish you all a merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous 1983.
